It is important to remember to follow the traffic patterns at school so that we can ensure the safety of each and every student as they arrive or leave for the day.
WHERE TO DROP OFF/PICK UP: Students are only allowed to be dropped off or picked up in the circle at WJHS. They
should not be dropped off or picked up on Locust in front of the school, in the parking lots at WJHS, Regina or at the Mikaelian Education Center. This causes an unsafe situation for students at both schools who are walking or are waiting in the correct traffic line. The WJHS parking lot
is for staff ONLY. Please be aware that many students bike or walk to school, so it is important to be alert AT ALL TIMES. The drop off and pick up area is a cell-phone free zone.
TRAFFIC PATTERNS: The safest and most efficient way to drop off and pick up your child is via the circle drive. To maintain a safe and consistent flow:
1.
Entering the Drive: All vehicles must enter the circle drive from Locust Avenue by traveling north and then making a right turn into the drive.
2.
Pulling Forward: When you enter the circle drive, please pull all the way forward to the designated drop-off sign. This sign will be located near the second large planter. Pulling forward completely is critical to prevent traffic backups and ensure a continuous flow of vehicles.
3.
Single Lane Traffic: Please keep your vehicle in a single lane. We will have cones and a barrier in place to narrow the traffic flow and direct cars to the correct drop-off spot.
4.
Quick Student Exit: For the quickest and safest drop-off, please have your child ready to exit the car quickly at the main entrance. Supervisors will be on hand to assist with traffic flow and help students exit their vehicles safely.
5.
Exit Circle Drive: Once your child exits, proceed to exit the circle drive. To ensure the safety of all pedestrians and drivers,
left turns out of the circle drive are strictly not permitted. After dropping off your child, all vehicles
must turn right and continue traveling
north on Locust Avenue.
